Opening | Ayesha Green: The Highlander's Farewell
20 November 2026

Join us for the opening of Ayesha Green's new exhibition, The Highlander's Farewell.

In The Highlander’s Farewell, Green draws out conversations around the migration of Scots to Aotearoa New Zealand in the nineteenth century, considering the underpinning social and political factors behind it and the implications for a new nation.

Designed specifically for Rokowhiria, The Highlander's Farewell will be Green’s first solo exhibition in Waitaha Canterbury. All are welcome to join us at this free opening event, featuring music by Christchurch-based duo Entrada, specialising in traditional Celtic dance music.

This exhibition was developed with the support of Creative New Zealand.
